The overall objectives of NanoCompetence - are the following:

  • Closing knowledge gaps in scientific basics, especially those which are relevant for future regulation of nanomaterials (“Research”)
  • Contribution to risk regulation of nanomaterials (“Application”)
  • Evaluation of potentials for environmental impact and discharge (“Application”)
  • New forms of knowledge transfer and communication for potentials and risks of nanomaterials (“Communication”)

These objectives represent important contributions to legal security as well as to social acceptability of future nanotechnological applications.
